Quote of the Day

This one is really interesting. Here it is.

Leviticus 21:7 They shall not marry a harlot or a woman who has been defiled; neither shall they marry a woman divorced from her husband. A widow, or one divorced, or a woman who has been defiled, or a harlot, these he shall not marry; but he shall take to wife a virgin of his own people.

So, you cannot marry a woman who has been defiled, or a woman who has been divorced. You can only marry a woman who is a virgin of "his own people". First, what does "own people" mean. Race, culture, orientation? What about a woman who is a virgin to her own, but has had encounters with those outside of her "own people". Ugh, the whole thing is so confusing.

  1. girl, it's all about the [totally lame] virgin/whore thing. just remember: damned if you do, damned if you don't.

plus, as a historical document, the bible as we know it is basically a bad translation, translated and re-translated over centuries into lots and lots of nonsensical bullshit. think of it as a massive case of broken telephone that some take as the WORD OF GOD.
